Virtually all American universities require their students to fill general education requirements, as well as major or concentration requirements. The founding faculty at CGS, like those at the University of Chicago, Harvard College, and Columbia University, decided on the core model rather than the more common divisional or distribution approach in which students pick courses from menu lists.

That is the foundation of Bu CGS… They rival Harvard, chicago, and Columbia. They also have crazy pre med students who kill people…</p>

<p>Just kidding with all that… Seems like a strong program for nontraditional schools… If you are looking into this, also check out Columbia GS and Harvard Extensions. I know people who have studied with columbia GS. That being said, what about paying far less for a CC and transferring into a top uni?</p>

<p>Are you kidding me? BU CGS is really not worth 50k per year. You are so much better off going to community college and transferring.</p>

<p>If you have the money… I never said it was worth it. I clearly said it was better than a CC. Stop having a misconception that everyone who goes there is stupid. There profile is not too bad, actually.</p>
