<p>Why is the enrollment deposit so expensive?</p>
<p>What is it for?</p>
<p>it’s to prevent students from enrolling in several different colleges and then making their decisions later in the summer and backing out of all the others. If the enrollment deposit was cheap, people wouldn’t take their decision as seriously. Like any deposit, it insulates the the other party from a full loss if you decide to back out.</p>
<p>Do you think BU would give me an extension or waiver? I seriously cannot afford this deposit right now. I use waivers for everything: college apps (including BU), school lunch, act/sat tests… What do you think?</p>
