"We appreciate your interest in Boston University, but after a careful and thoughtful review of your application, the Board of Admissions is unable to offer you admission at this time.
We do, however, recognize your strong commitment to your studies and your many achievements in high school, as well as your potential for success at Boston University. For these reasons, you are one of a select group of students to whom we are offering guaranteed admission as a transfer student to the College of Engineering for September 2019.
This offer is extended with the understanding that you will successfully complete your current high school work in good academic and disciplinary standing. In addition, you must complete two semesters as a full-time student at one accredited college or university in the US, other than Boston University, earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and maintain good academic and disciplinary standing."
sorry to everyone who didn’t get in. you are all smart people I am sure and apparently BU just wasn’t it for you. today’s my birthday so I was really hoping I would get in and I did; to their honors college!!!
Based on this random sample, the waitlist “short list” doesn’t look too short ;-). I would say odds are not good at all. I’m moving on. I don’t think I really was prepared how random / difficult this was going to be.

Same. I read in a 2016 thread that there were 4400 on the waitlist, 2200 accepted to remain there and 4 got admitted. I accepted mainly because BU’s one of my top schools and a chance is better than nothing. Still waiting for GW, BC, and AU but now I’m more nervous than ever
Yeah, pisser. My son applied ED, was deferred to RD. Got the email this morning that decision was in, but there is nothing in Applicant Portal–no new tabs–NOTHING.
