<p>You understand that salary numbers are junk. Colleges don’t track what graduates do. They send out some surveys and get some responses back. This info is often manipulated by schools to make themselves look good. </p>

<p>The primary determinants of your income are:

  1. the job title you have in the field, because no company pays graduate of x school materially more than graduate of y school for the same thing.
  2. where you live. You make more money in Connecticut than Mississippi because personal income (and cost of living) is higher.</p>
