BU Technical Theatre Program

I am a Junior in high school and I am looking into majors for technical theater and stage management. I have heard great things about BU’s program and I am wondering if anyone has any opinions or thoughts about this program or other programs where I should look.

I have no specific location in mind so I am looking for anyone’s ideas that will help me. Thank you!

I’ve heard good things about BU and am applying there this year (I’m a senior in High School.) I have heard from various sources that Cal-State Fullerton, and NYU also have very prestigous theatre programs. A graduate from my school who is currently enrolled in Fullerton is working at Disneyland now and does the lighting design for events like Grad-Night, has helped create the new World of Color show, and works often on the Fantasmic show. So Fullerton I know has a great program.

But back to BU they have a rigorous application policy including an interview. (that’s the stress I’m going through this year  BU is also a very cool program in that they don’t have so much a “Technical-Theatre concentration” as part of their theatre major but actually have majors in production, design, and stage management.

Well I hope this was helpful, if you have another question I might be able to help out with just P.M. me, (if you can on this sight),

FYI, there is a theater majors forum here that includes discussions about theater tech. You might find some of the information you are looking for there.
