BU Trustee Scholarship essay- am i being pretentious/misinterpreting prompt?

so the essay prompt is:
if you could be fluent in just one, would you find it to be more valuable to be fluent in a foreign language or in a computer language? Why?

i am going to write about my mother-tongue, hindi (coz i am curry and proud, meh :3) and relate it how it will help me in the economic sector and other stuff. and that computer language can have prerequisites however a foreign language goes a long way in social communication and hardcore related stuff.

bottom line is, since already KNOW the language that i want to mention in this essay, is it okay to do so?
(coz i know WHY should a person be fluent in this language today and in coming days, and same way, relating stuff)

guys, the deadline is on the dec1. please help out asap?

Personally, I think you should write about another language. Maybe mention how you are already fluent in hindi and then say that since you love hindi so much you’d want to explore other languages as well or something along those lines.

P.S. I’m also fluent in Hindi :P
