Hi Guys! So I’ve received my acceptance letters from BU NU USC and GWU, but I don’t know which school is right for me!
I am an international relations major, and my main concerns are: ranking, urban setting, diverse study body, good academics.

Which school would you think is right for me?

HELP!!!

What is NU? Northwestern? Northeastern? Nebraska? Nevada?

Assuming you mean Northwestern, I would go with NU, followed by GWU or USC. BU would be my last choice.

I am actually referring to Northeastern University, located in Boston. @Alexandre why would BU be your last option? Can you further explain for me.

Thanks

Between NEU (not NU) and BU, I would choose BU. However, I would choose GWU or USC over the Boston schools for the following reasons:

If you want to overall college experience (campus life, athletics, school spirit, strong alumni network etc…), USC is your best bet.

If you want the strongest IR program (both academically and in terms of internships and eventual job placement), look no further than GWU. Another added advantage of GWU is that if you do well your first year, you could transfer to Georgetown, and if admitted, you would not have to lose the friends you made at GWU since the two universities are within 1 mile of each other.

BU would be my third choice because (1) it is not as strong academically as USC, (2) it is not nearly as good as GWU in your intended academic and professional field. NEU is strong in niche programs, but given your interests and your other options, it is not really a factor.

USC has the most diverse student body, the best rankings, and great academics. Its location is probably the worst of your choices.

I would choose GWU because of its focus in your intended major and the advantages that come from being in the nation’s capital (for internships, guest speakers, museums etc.)
