Could any parent or student provide insight into the kind of SSAT scores that Boston University Academy would consider? My son overall score is 75% Percentile with Quant at 89%. Wanted to check what his chances would be for BUA. We do know there are other elements but wanted to understand the SSAT aspects influencing admission.

I believe that BUA has significantly high SSAT scores. I thought I heard that the average is in the low 90th%. I would recommend you talk with someone there and ask.
Per their school profile 2016-2017 ( although they don’t list SSAT scores they do list SAT and ACT results which are also standardized and often correlated)
Mean SAT 1450, mean ACT 33.1. There were 17 National merit commended and 4 National Merit scholars and 1 Hispanic scholar. Also there were 51 student in that class year. Which means that nearly half were national merits of some type ( this is a high number given they need BOTH high math and high reading to achieve this in most cases. Also, MA is one of the states with the highest numbers for NM< along with CA, CT, NJ and a handful of others. I think the number used to be even higher. I’d guess based on their stats that most kids are in the 92-99% range on the SSAT. IT really isn’t a school for the hard working. It appears to be for the gifted who are also hardworking.
I don’t think scores alone should stop you from applying but I’d guess most kids are in the top 5%.
