Bucknell Admissions

Quite honestly, Bucknell seems to be my number one
choice. However, I have heard that Bucknell only
selects the top SAT applicants, therefore eliminating
the other applicants who aren’t as qualified in this
one specific area. From there, the admissions
committee selects their incoming class. I don’t know
if this is truly a “fact.”

Perhaps what I’m asking is this - does the admissions
committee select students who don’t have the “up to
par” SAT scores? Do they automatically throw them out
of the applicant pool, without looking at their other
qualifications? Or, rather, do they look at the whole
package of each applicant regardless of their SAT
scores?

Thanks ahead of time.

hey

i dont think thats true at all? My SAT score was in the 1300s, not spectacular but not oustanding and i got in ED II. I think whatever you heard is definately a lie…good luck

never heard of such a thing until now.

I hadn’t heard anything like that either. With smaller schools, they can look at the application more “holistically” ie not just cut off scores for GPA and SAT. It is usually the very large Unis that are forced to do that.
