Bucknell Class of 2024

@pandagirl567 : My roommate is a bio major (premed) finishing freshman year and she obtained a summer research position with Bio Chem professor who is on the health services advising committee. Unfortunately all on campus summer research is cancelled due to Covid19 but she loves the professors and facilities. There are plenty of research opportunities and classes are small. You may want to check out some of the on-line sessions Bucknell is having for accepted students - they may give you a realistic feel of what Bucknell is all about.
Like @Yocca2 said - you can’t go wrong at either school

Got off the waitlist on Thursday! No change on the portal, I got an email from my rep instead and was told over the phone. The email went to my spam folder so it’s great I found it!

@rei123 - I was offered a spot off the waitlist last year a week after paying my deposit at another school. I visited Bucknell the next day (unfortunately you can’t do that this year). Admission office was great - there was no pressure for an immediate answer. I was also offered a spot off another highly ranked school and they demanded an answer within 24 hours.

I ultimately chose Bucknell after a week of driving myself crazy. The primary reasons were 1) accepted into the Freeman College of Management 2) campus energy - everyone was excited to be there and 3) Beautiful campus with great facilities.

Its weird bc Bucknell was the first school I visited (at the end of my sophomore year) and I really didn’t think about much until I got accepted. i think it was always one of my parents favorites (lol). But now I can’t imagine my self anywhere else. You never know how things work out but they will- follow your gut

Good luck!

@pandagirl567 - Did you make a decision: Bucknell or Lehigh?

I ended up choosing Lehigh, after weeks of torturing myself over which one to choose haha. Neither of them were offering me money, but I liked Lehigh’s campus more. Bucknell seems amazing too though! I hope I made the right choice.

Congrats and best of luck, You will do great!

Admitted off the waitlist on Friday with a very good financial aid package! I have until Monday to decide between here and Binghamton University… many pros and cons to both schools so it is a tough decision!

Good afternoon,
I was currently waitlisted for Bucknell University. Do you know what Bucknell looks for in waitlist applicants? I submitted a letter of intent with new letters of recommendations and my upgraded transcript.

I was waitlisted last year. You have done all the right things. The “waiting” is the worst part. Good luck

The link above is a bit misleading. According to the NACAC list to which the article refers, Bucknell is only accepting transfer students and has no financial aid available for them.

Yes, that’s odd. D got an email on 6/9 from Bucknell stating she will not be offered a spot in the Class of 2024 off the waitlist, and it mentioned that last year less than 10% of those who accepted their place on the waitlist were ultimately accepted due to a lack of available spaces. I read that to mean their class is full this year. She is also waitlisted at Lehigh, who sent an email on 5/31 that they still intend to make offers for fall off of their waitlist. Seems strange they would be accepting new applications when they still have hundreds, perhaps thousands, on their waitlists already. Lehigh (not sure about Bucknell), is need-aware for their waitlist as well.

Bucknell is need aware for admissions, so I would assume they are for the waitlist as well.

According to this Inside Higher Ed article, Bucknell had 1032 committed students on a goal of 990 in early June.
