Daughter accepted with Presidential Scholarship
accepted with dean’s scholarship!
S24 accepted. Needed some good news. Kids who nailed their ED have this thing figured out. This long stretch of not knowing what’s next is brutal.
My son was admitted with presidential scholarship. Definitely puts it high on his list!
Accepted with Dean’s Scholarship!
By the way, does anyone know what the Puff Family Scholars Program is? I was accepted into that at Bucknell but wasn’t given a lot of information and can’t find anything online.
The Puff Family Scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Robert C. Puff ’42 and Mrs. Isabel Clark Puff ’43 by their children and spouses: Robert C. Puff Jr. ’67 and his wife, Nancy Larzelere Puff ’69; Barbara Puff ’69; Sally Puff Courtney ’74; and Jeffrey V. Puff ’75, and his wife, Rae Ann Puff. Awards from this scholarship shall be used to recruit students with demonstrated financial need and exceptional academic promise. The scholarship is intended, where possible, to provide the entire financial need of selected recipients, thereby eliminating or reducing their need to become indebted with loans for financial aid or to take time away from collegiate pursuits for work. It is the donors’ hope that students selected to receive grants under this agreement will use the time saved from such extra work obligations to excel in academic efforts and engage actively in the life of the University through participation in service organizations, student government, social clubs, the arts, athletics, etc.
Looks like it might cover full need.
Hmmm…that’s interesting. In their letter it sounded like it offered extra opportunities, but maybe not.
Waitlisted. Disappointing.
Hi, does anyone know anything about the Presidential Fellowship?
Presidential Fellowships award a $30,000 annual merit scholarship renewable over four years, and match recipients with a mentor from the faculty or University staff who include them in a significant, long-term project or experience.
Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at Bucknell.
Presidential Fellows dedicate six to eight hours per week during the academic year on a challenging, long-term project that matches their interests, for which they may earn up to $1,800. Fellows are invited to academic and cultural activities on campus and participate in special professional development events
The website is still saying $1,800 for the long-term project but award letters said $2,000.
