Burnt out with 1 year to go

I had a rough year. I transferred to university and it honestly feels like hell.

I’m a 3rd year (junior) computer science student and I had one of the worst terms. I took course non-stop starting with a bunch of general ed requirements. And because I’m caught up with maths beforehand, I was stuck in a bunch of non-programming courses filled with mind-numbing memorisation…awful. I even sacrificed an entire summer to do 4 courses in 6 weeks. I made a 4.0 that quarter which was a godsend, but there was no time to recover before I had to take Physics, Data Structures, and a mid-level Geology course.

Now I’m taking proofs, and will be taking discrete next quarter, and I can already tell that the lack of a break has affected my work attitude. I can’t sleep anymore, I can barely read or do homework, I can barely eat an entire meal and I’m so depressed because I’m sure that everyone in my proofs course knows the work except for me.

Everyone thinks I’m too uptight, but I realised that any less effort would make me a C student.

Does anyone have any experience with this and know how to cope without taking too much time away from studies?
