So I’m thinking about majoring in both Computer Science and one of the Business concentrations. What I’m wondering though is whether it would be better/more “efficient” to just take the Business and Engineering major instead. What is the BE major like? Is it just a mix of general business and general engineering topics? Because if that’s the case, I think I would rather double major because Computer Science is really the only Engineering-related subject that really interests me while I love all aspects of Business.

Check out the course requirements for each major. That might help your decision more. Double majoring will be difficult though when they are largely unrelated majors with a lot of different required courses. Your schedule will be very packed if you choose that route unless you come in with a lot of AP credits. You might want to consider majoring in one and minoring in another or doing the B&E degree if that interests you.

GZA - i’m a B&E major and beat out a number of computer science/engineering majors for a co-op job. I’ve seen this dilemma before and can help you out (although either way a computer science - business double major really does not make sense). First of all, when you say “computer science” interests you… what aspect of computer science? do you have any previous experience? What type of career do you see yourself going into.

Depending on what kind of computer science interests you, it might make sense to also consider a business major with an MIS concentration // computer science minor

Okay yeah that’s true. I’m mostly interested in video game design with computer science so that’s why Drexel’s program seems so appealing to me. Also yeah, I actually applied to all of my colleges as an MIS major, but that was before I started looking into computer science. I haven’t taken any classes in the major, but I want to at least join some intro classes and see if I like it. But regardless of whether I choose to major in Business or Comp Science, I am definitely going to at least minor in the other subject.

video game design?? MIS won’t prepare you to be a video game designer. neither will business and engineering. focus on computer science/software engineering/or something of that aspect. if you really want the business side but want something more comprehensive than the minor you may want to look into a joint mba program:
