Business Co-Op with Sports?

I’ve been looking at a lot of business schools lately, and I’ve heard that Northeastern University’s co-op is what makes its business thrive. I’ve always wanted to do business in sports (or anything involving sports, since i love sports), and I know that Northeastern University is walking distance from Fenway Park. That being said, how easy/difficult is it for someone to get a co-op/internship for the Red Sox?

Don’t know how easy it is, but one of the stories we were told by the NEU co-op folks was about co-oping with the Red Sox. Specifically—when they won the World Series all the co-op kids got rings which I thought was very cool!

there are definitely co-ops with the red sox and bruins depending on what you want to do. I applied to an accounting co-op with the Red Sox, but they took so long to interview people that I had already accepted another job. There are also co-ops i saw in New York City with MLS. So definitely some opportunities.

I’ve heard the Red Sox co-ops are amazing though. The only bad thing about them is that they are some of the lowest paying jobs.

It’s kind of hard to get them… Like, obviously, they are popular and popular jobs tend to have more competition. But I have also heard what was said above- that they slack on interviews and stuff. The business school starts co-op searching and recruiting VERY early compared to the other colleges- I know several people who had spring business co-ops by the second week of September, meanwhile most colleges don’t even allow students to see the jobs before October. So non-corporate jobs tend to be slacking a bit and go later on in the cycle. Sometimes it comes down to how badly you want a particular job and how big a chance you think you have of getting it.
