My son (a rising junior) is interested in one day owning his own restaurant. While he enjoys cooking, and is taking culinary arts in hs, he’s decided that a business degree will be more useful to actually owning a business. I looked at business degrees in the University System of Georgia, and there are a lot. I know GSU has a business degree in hospitality, but my son would like a more traditional college environment. His grades are not the highest, although they’re not bad, but I would like to have a plan B in case he doesn’t get admitted to UGA. I expect he’ll end up with a GPA of 3.2-3.3ish. Can anyone advise the best business management program in our state system, outside of GSU or UGA? Oh, one more detail: he’s not a numbers guy; his strengths are in writing, social studies, and he’s got good people skills.

I would look at Georgia Southern and GCSU. I agree Georgia State is not the best choice for someone who wants a traditional residential college experience.
