<p>I’m currently a freshman at the University of Illinois and I am looking to transfer to Mcgill for the fall semester. I’m studying psychology and looking to minor in business and possibly spanish. If I were in the Faculty of Arts, would it be possible to minor in business? What does getting a minor involve at Mcgill? Also, how are the study abroad programs, I looked on the website and it doesn’t seem like there are very many programs and they all seem very limited. Just wondering if someone can give me some insight and possibly the requirements for the minor since I can’t seem to find it on their website. Thanks!</p>

<p>haha… luckily I’ve rejected Illinios and chosen Mcgill. Transfering is such a hassle…</p>

<p>The programs here at the University of Illinois are really great. There are tons of opportunities for research, the classes are provocative, and there are great professors (some mediocre TA’s however). I grew up around Chicago, and loved to play in the city! At the U of I, Greek life rules the social scene. There are about 8 bars on campus and they are really, really, really crappy (just cement squares where they serve beer to drunk kids). Also, the quad (which by the way is very nice) smells legitimately like cow **** on a warm day where there is a breeze. 5 minutes south, there is nothing for miles. When I went to visit McGill over my spring break, I absolutely fell in love with the city. There is so much CULTURE there and it’s such an alive place. My biggest concern about transferring is that I would lose some credits and would not be as ahead as I am here. Also, it’s just a change, so I’m a bit hesitant. But I really want to go! I think I’d love it there, however I don’t find out if I got in until I submit my final transcript. I’m looking at a 3.8 here so I’m hoping that will be good enough! But yes, if I were you, I would choose McGill over University of Illinois in a HEARTBEAT!!!</p>
