Business Related ECs

How big are they to business schools? I'm talking about places like NYU Stern and USC Marshall. My school doesn't have a formal business club, and it's been tough finding an actual business related internship position.

They are alright, but they are pretty common I think - clubs like DECA and FBLA so, if the school runs it, you should be in it. If not, don't sweat. I don't have anything in my school in terms of business ECs except this year they started DECA. I didn't join because I have to run a club that I founded at the same time, which the business schools (Wharton + Ross) will understand because I did things that showed my passion beyond just joining business clubs.

By the way, just joining or founding a business club in your school isn't enough. You really need to do something to show your passion or make an impact.

Well, that sounds good. I'm a co founder and vp of a club at my school, but we haven't had any business related club.

Getting a job, any job, or starting your own business -- even something like a lawn service -- would demonstrate your love of business to the colleges that take things like this into admissions consideration. You'd also probably learn more about business by doing these things than by just participating in a club.

Doesn't really matter lol. UG BSchool's don't really expect you to have any significant business experience.

Ah, alright. I might get a job then.

They don't expect you to have some but any is definitely a major plus.
