I’m in the market for a new GE Profile electric cooktop. Sears was having some amazing sales, but I missed them, so I’d like to order online. I’m pretty sure my husband can swap it out and if not, I’m sure the contractor doing my new countertops can have someone do it.

Can anyone recommend an online vendor? I see the one I want at Numbers1Direct and AppliancesConnection but I’d feel better if I knew that others had good luck with them. Online reviews of the two sites are mixed.

When I was shopping online for cameras a few years ago I thought I found a great price, luckily shared it with a friend who gave me the above website. There were many NY based scammer causing all sorts of issues.

I’ve bought directly from the GE Store online. <a href=“GEA Store”>GEA Store;

They will deliver and install. (For a fee. IIRC, the charge is pretty modest. $50? Maybe less. Scheduled at my convenience and the delivery/installation people arrived on time. )

Haven’t had any issues with the appliances. In once case I needed a repair of appliance purchased online and a email to the GE Store got it done quickly (within 3 days) and for free as the appliance in question was still under warranty.

Several friends have bought from Costco and have been happy with their purchases.

I just bought a GE range online from Home Depot. They were the least expensive (some kind of sale) at the time and deliver for free and haul away the old one. HD has a better selection online than in the stores.

MY DS interned for GE one summer, so we can still order from their website at an employee rate. Got a cooktop and at the time they were running a free delivery/installation. It was great.

Ironically enough DH used to work for them (they bought the company he was working with). He hated them and never wanted us to buy anything from them, but several years have gone by now and he’s ok with the purchase :-). As I recall the discount wasn’t very good - maybe because he wasn’t with the main company - he was with the medical device part.

We have NOT had success with sears.com when we were trying to purchase a dishwasher. We eventually had to go to local sears store but they would match the lower sears.com price. It took several weeks & phone calls & an in-person visit to sort it all out. The dishwasher now works fine. That was the only appliance we tried to buy on-line.

We have bought a large Xerox printer on-line at costco.com. They were wonderful–delivered it & no hassle return when it didn’t work properly. I have had good experiences in general with Costco.com.

I bought the range from HD because for something that large I wanted an easy way to return it if there was any kind of problem - like if I discovered a dent in it after they left. HD is good for returning things as is Costco and some other stores. If you buy it from a remote or online-only retailer it might be more difficult.

I bought HE front loader washer from Home Depot on sale before Christmas. They came exactly when scheduled - in and out with old washer in less than 45 minutes. It works perfectly. The whole process couldn’t have been easier.

I also bought my newest washing machine from Home Depot online.
Installation and haul away were included.
They showed on time and it was quick and easy.

I did have to go to store to claim a rebate though.

We bought all of our kitchen appliances at appliancesconnection.com; fridge, range, dishwasher, sink, faucet. All of the appliances are high end. I found their prices and customer service to be outstanding. They were all delivered and installed without any issues. We have had no problems with any of the appliances which are about a year old now. I would definitely use them again!
