Has anyone purchased a car using the Costco auto service? I got an email that I hoped would contain a price, but I got an email saying I have to go to the dealership in person to “see the costco price”.

Normally, I contact the internet sales guy and agree on the drive-out price before I ever enter the dealership, but I’m willing to run over there if it saves me money.

I did the Costco service for my last car. It was easy and very reasonable, but I did have to go there to find out what the Costco price was. Overall very happy with the experience.

I used the Costco service in December 2012. I got the price quote in an email - no need to go to the dealership. I ended up buying the car using the USAA service - at a slightly better price than Costco’s.

We had an excellent buying experience using the Costco service, last summer – $300 under dealer invoice, no last-minute switcheros or games. Will definitely use again. =D>

Spoke to someone yesterday who got his car through a corporate family plan (even though he isnt “family” of an employee" and he said the cost was something like 18% below invoice. So clearly there is a lot of wiggle room.
