Buying shoes in narrow sizes for summer internship

I too have a narrow heel and I buy all my shoes from Zappos and Lord&Taylor. I do well with Anne Klein, Nine West, Franco Sarto, Donald J. Pliner and sometimes Michael Kors.

Another vote for Zappos …I have narrow feet too.
My feet didn’t get one bit wider after two pregnancies but my hips sure did !

You may want to take a look at Marmi shoes. They are known for narrow/slim sizes.

Thanks very much for all the information!

I ordered 5 pairs of shoes in narrow sizes online. My D is deciding whether to keep two of the pairs.

We went to DSW, where the saleswoman said that DSW gets narrow sizes sometimes, but that they are snapped up right away. Hmmm, it sounds like there might be unmet demand for narrow shoes in retail stores!

schoklade - glad you were able to find something.

As for the unmet need, I agree that narrow size shoes were much easier to find in stores 20 years ago. And I have found that they quickly sell out on line. Hello! Shoe manufacturers? Retailers? Can you hear us?

Look up Easy Spirit’s website–free shipping (and free return to Easy Spirit store)

For fancy heels and sandals, try Kate Spade shoes - although they are listed as “B” width, they run really narrow!

If you still need more shoe ideas (sounds like she might be all set) check out Ivanka Trump’s line – it’s young, pretty, and they fit my narrow heel (even the pumps). They sell them at Lord & Taylor and Zappos.

Order from Zappos–
I recently ordered 26 pairs (!) as I needed to find some shoes for traveling. I am mostly narrow but also somewhat inbetween. I kept 2 pairs. I ordered about 6 each time. They arrive, don’t fit, I package (simple!) and drop off at our local shipping store within the day. I do think that they could do a better return time, as Amazon does, but they have always been accurate and I love them!

Thanks for the continued ideas.

My D plans to keep a black pair of Ros Hommerson shoes, but still needs a pair in another color to wear with her navy skirt. Zappos might be next!

Oregon101, and I thought I was bad! Another plus for Zappos, if you are a Zappos VIP you get free overnight shipping. A friend of mine forgot to pack his running shoes for a race, couldn’t find them locally, and had a pair overnighted in time for the start.

I was just looking at Sierra Trading Post’s latest deals. They often have Munro shoes and sometimes Aravon (New Balance). You can sort by width so it just takes a moment to check. (One of my peeves is having to open a window in order to find out if something comes in my width, which it usually doesn’t.) Right now there are some Munro sling-backs, a little frumpy but probably comfy, for $46.77 with all of today’s deals.
