<p>My D and I spent 4 hours in a large mall shopping for shoes today, and could not find a single pair of shoes that fit her narrow foot and would be appropriate for her new job. We started at Nordstrom, which now carries only one brand of dress shoes in narrow sizes. In all, we visited 4 department stores and 3 stores that sold only shoes.</p>
<p>Is online shoe shopping our only option now?</p>
<p>If not, where else can we try?</p>
<p>If so, what brands would you recommend, particularly for a narrow heel?</p>
<p>We would be very grateful for advice. She will start her new job Thursday, with or without new shoes!</p>
<p>Easy Spirit makes shoes in many different widths, including narrow. I know for certain they carry basic pumps and business dress shoes both with and without heels. Some stores carry a few models but I find the best selection at the ES outlet store. Since it’s 45 minutes away, though, I order most online. Note: <em>I</em> do not have narrow feet, my D does. You might also try Nine West-a whole store of them if you can find it. She is able to buy right off the rack there sometimes.</p>
<p>I was looking for shoes for our son when he was 8 - he had very wide feet and very high arches. I called about 30 shoe stores and couldn’t find anything. I eventually found a place that sold 4EEE shoes.</p>
<p>How about going through the phone book for your area with your daughter’s size to ask if they have something?</p>
<p>Seconding Zappos! You may have to order many to find the right shoe. Worth it to find shoes that fit. Were there any in the stores that were close? You can try to find those in narrow at Zappos.</p>
<p>My D has the same issue. Concentrate on slingbacks to fit the heel versus shoes with “full” heels. We had great luck at a Cole Haan store. Be prepared to spend some dough.</p>
<p>Narrow heel poster here. Not to be nasty but Easy Spirit shoes look too “old” for me and I am 56!</p>
<p>I have found: Cole-Haan size narrow ballet flats. Not inexpensive but well made and comfortable.
Ivanka Trump pointy toe heels (got at Nordstrom) in narrow.
Check Talbots online. Last I looked they had some ballet flats in narrow.

<p>Looking for narrow-width shoes was like a needle in a haystack for me. I could only find premium brands in narrow, but I was young and it gave me an excuse to buy expensive shoes! If your D is like me, though, her foot will widen out once she has children and narrow sizes won’t be a problem anymore.</p>
<p>Also look at Vaneli’s. They have some classic style flats and pumps and every one can use basic pumps. I buy them often (Marmi’s Atlanta or Charlotte) since I need AAA/AAAA for dress shoes. I can do narrow or some brands in medium if they tie but that’s not usually dress shoes. Just bought some cute naturalizer ballerina flats in narrow and they are fine since have some elastic. As far as M shoes go, both my girls like Sam Edelman brand flats and they seem to be cut narrower than some brands - neither girl buys narrow shoes, but I think they could use them especially on heels.</p>

<p>On the other thread we were commenting that shoe shopping at Nordstrom Rack can be hit-and-miss. Interestingly enough, though, if your daughter fits narrow I’d say you might want to take a look. Same thing for wide.</p>
<p>Back in the 80s I bought all my shoes at Nordies South Coast Plaza store. I can still picture the salespeople coming out with stacks of boxes in my AAAA size. (I also went to a AA and up a half size after kids.) Those were the days.</p>
<p>My D wears a lot of slingbacks. Her feet are size 10 as well, so we usually have to do some serious searching for the “right” shoes. Easy Spirits CAN look old, but basic pumps and slingback closed-toe shoes aren’t age-related. They are what they are. </p>
<p>BTW, they also have a good variety in WIDE sizes. They’re one of the few brands that sell dress shoes in styles I can comfortably wear. And I love their athletic shoes and walking shoes. Nordstrom Rack often has Easy Spirits and others mentioned in this thread, but it IS hit or miss. The good thing is that you don’t have to wait for them to be delivered and sent back if they don’t work.</p>
