THANK YOU

Need your rank.

Yes, rank would be needed as that is probably the largest factor when deciding admissions.

if you have the money…you should deffinetly consider applying to ivy league schools…unless of course you’re just a die hard Longhorn fan or just love the city of Austin like i do… btw i heard that next year the top 10% rule will be changed to top 8% so…yea

hmmm well im unsure my exact ranking, but its worse than what it would be if i had gone to the school i attend currently because i tranferred my junior year from private school (where i took religion class both years which is like 1/4 of a credit…it was required…and freshman or sophmores were not allowed to take APs). I know im atleast in the top half of my grade, which will also go up this year because im taking easier AP and IB classes

any chance?

In-state you basically have to be top 10% to get in, since they have to let you in. Since they are doing away with that rule in the near future, admission requirements are going to go up even higher. They already are really strict on OOS people, but your qualifications look good. Except the SAT score. My advice would be to bring that up, and hope that your class rank (at time of application, not necessarily graduation) is in the top 10%, or even more so the top 5%.

ah that makes sense.
well im going to retake the SAT once more in october in hopes of surpassing that 2000 mark.
my score went up 200 points from the last time i had taken it, so hopefully ill be able to manage atleast 60 more points!
any other advice on making my application stand out?

write good essays and submit a good resume. that can push you over the hump if you are borderline.

Top HALF of your class? You need to be better than top 10% for an OOS to shine. Luckily it looks like you go to a good school, but at Texas, unfortunately, it’s all about that CLASS RANK.
