Does anyone know how important extracurriculars are for the Monson scholarship?
My academic record is competitive- no National Merit scholar, but I got a 36 on the ACT (36E 36M 34R 36S) and currently have a 4.0 (4.61 weighted) that will be a 4.71 weighted if I can keep straight As which will be tough but doable. Course load is mostly good- lots of honors/AP- but not outstanding.

My extracurriculars are not so great- no sports, no clubs, no science fair or major awards, minimal community service, teacher recommendations will be nothing special, etc.
Besides normal church stuff (seminary grad, personal progress, youth camp leader, couple of class presidency things, etc.) I have colorguard (outdoor/indoor, starting sophomore year), SNHS, NHS, two years in the hill cumorah pageant, and that’s pretty much it. I might have science nhs.

I’m quitting band senior year, which will look bad. I don’t have sports or clubs or internships or awards or a job. Plus my act writing was quite bad.

Do you think all that will look bad enough to outweigh my ACT and transcript?
