CA and supplement essays are slightly similar?

<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>My CA essay talks a lot about research and science, while my Yale supplement essay is about receiving criticism from my research mentor, although the general message is about criticism in general. While I talk about two different themes, they are both in the same setting (a research lab). Are these two topics too similar to write different essays on? </p>

<p>The themes are more important than the setting so if the second essay is a well-written, interesting essay that just happens to take place in a lab, it should be ok. Ok, but different settings would still be better to show more well-roundedness.</p>
