Hey guys! I was hoping to get some feedback on a supplemental essay that I wrote for GWU. I’m asking because while I think it’s interesting, I’m worried I may have crammed too much information, much of which was unnecessary? Anyways, if you’re interested it would be a lot of help!
I was also hoping to get some advice about who I should ask for a recommendation from? I’m generally a really quiet/ shy person, so I’m having a hard time picking teachers who really know me.
Teacher #1: Art teacher of two years. She seems to really like me, but I’m really quiet in her class and I haven’t talked to her a lot, so she may not know me very well. I’m hoping to apply as a international affairs major too, so I’m not sure if it’s the best idea to have an art teacher write my recommendation.
Teacher #2: My APUSH teacher from last year. He’s really nice, and I heard he writes really good recommendations, but I’m not sure how well he likes me. I participated in class a lot, but I was very quiet and read a lot too. Again, I’m not sure how well he really knows me, but his recommendation would be more aligned with what my intended major is.
Teacher #3: My chemistry teacher from last year. She’s really nice too and seemed to like me. Plus next year, we’re going on a small class trip, so we’ve kept in touch because of all the trip planning. On the other hand, I’ve already asked her to write a recommendation for me last year for a program that I ended not attending, so I feel like I may be asking too much from her?
