There is a terrific organization that every college art student should be aware of: College Art Association, or simply CAA. These guys offer periodicals, directories, online artist to artist directories, seminars, a jobs board, and conventions. Here is there website:

http://www.collegeart.org/

Membership for fulltime college artists is $50/year. My daughter has been a member for about a year and one of her favorite things from CAA is their directories section. She’s ordered 2 or 3 of their directories, read them cover to cover and she feels it’s really helped her.

This year’s convention is in L.A. and last year’s was in NYC and I think they move it around every year. My D will be going with her studio art classmates and it will be interesting to see what they learn from that.

Anyway, if you haven’t been on the CAA website go take a look to see if there is anything that might be useful. Sorry I haven’t posted this sooner.

Best,
Wheaty
