Starting off, I know that Cal is very competitive as opposed to SDSU, but I have important factors (price, location, etc.) affecting my decision. Having been admitted to both, I’m having trouble choosing the right school for me. SDSU is much cheaper than Cal, driving distance to my home in Nevada, and is in a more desirable (in my opinion) location than Cal. Cal, on the other hand, has a level of prestige and academic rigor that I believe SDSU lacks. However, Cal is frankly a seemingly intimidating environment and I worry about the social aspects of the school. I also fear not getting into Haas my sophomore year and ending up with a major that is not my first choice. Any thoughts or input as to which college is a better fit? Should I wait until grad school to try and go to Haas?
