Cal Grant A vs State University Grant

If my tuition and fees are $9021 for the 2012/13 year, Can I use both my Cal Grant A ($5972) and a portion of the State University Grant that was offered to cover my total tuition and fees or am I supposed to make up the difference between Cal Poly Slo’s tuition and fees after my Cal Grant A?

The UC’s offer a the Blue and Gold Opportunity Plan in addition to the Cal Grant A to cover all of the UC system wide fees, does the CSU offer the same?? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

State university grant and Cal Grant I am sure are the same thing. Yes you have to make up the difference between the $5972 and the $9021 that SLO charges. SLO has outrageous extra fees on top of the regular tuition. It is one of the reasons I am considering not going to SLO. Because expect another at least 10% jump again next year. Pretty soon they are going to be as expensive as a UC but you don’t get the large Cal Grant that you get for a UC.
