This is my second year at a Cal State university. My first year I was awarded a state university grant and this year I was awarded cal grant C which is the transfer entitlement award. However, I was just deemed ineligible for reasons I do not know of after submitting my high school transcripts and my parents CA income tax return to prove I was a California resident. They said it would take them 2-4 weeks to process my paperwork. However, 2 days later they sent an email saying I was ineligible which seems weird to me. Now I only have a federal pell grant which does not cover all of my school expenses. Can I appeal or be considered for the california state university grant like the previous year?
You need to contact the Calgrant office because they are the only ones who know the answer about C.
I do know that Calgrants have a time limit. Calgrant C’s may only be available for a total of two years.
The state university grant is administered by the CSU to students with need, and who don’t have a current Calgrant.
