Cal Grant GPA

The Fs was replaced by NGs in my son’s transcript. But when his high school calculate Cal Grant GPA, they still use Fs.

So his Cal Grant GPA is only 2.8

What can we do?

If the high school isn’t recalculating the GPA, the GPA they sent is what CSAC will use. If your income/assets are too high for Cal-B, the only other option you have for the future is to have your son do well this last semester with the hopes of getting his grades up and go back to the high school after his freshman year of college to have the GPA re-sent to CSAC to try to get Cal for sophomore-senior years.

Sorry, one more option. You can send your son to community college, and if he does well there he can apply for the Cal-Grant transfer entitlement award with the necessary community college GPA.

Thank you. He con

Thank you. He concurrently enrolled at a community college. He got 29 college credits with a GPA 3.8+.

He will take a class during summer so that he will get 32+ credits. He will apply transferring to a 4 year university this fall.
