Cal grant late form

Okay, so for the second section part of the late gpa form, it said that I need to give a good reason… My school ****ed up, the office didnt send it. Well, that is all they said, but that reason sounds way too “my fault”.

I want to add a little bit of spice into the reason, like saying how my counselor was hospitalized and it was delayed, even though he wasnt, or something else like that to show that it was way out of my control of things.
Let’s assume that they do have my school’s information (probably searching through their mails or from the form directly) and has the potential to call my school… what are the chances that the commission board will actually do that to verify my reason?

Can someone please give me a reasonable/logical answer? I mean, they are probably going to get many late forms from across california that they cant possibly call and verify EVERY student’s excuse regarding the school.

I’d say go with the truth…others have posted the same reason on this forum and their late forms were accepted. The CalGrant folks likely know that GC’s aren’t perfect!

Okay, well let’s say that it actually was my fault for not going to my GC since I moved to England during my junior year due to family business. And I was not sure if I still counted as a resident so I did not think that much on it… (parents told me to try anyways at the last second but school didnt have time to send it in)…

What I really need to know is the chances that they will actually call to ask the school, even though they need to time it right to get the school to pick up, about whether my reason was exactly as I said?
