In regards to previous posts wondering if acceptances were released by last name, I’m not sure since my DS’s last name is at end of alphabet. Maybe they are releasing acceptances by major? Not sure, but good luck to everyone!
Cal Poly rolls out its acceptances by college over a couple of weeks, and Out of Stare acceptances typically come out a day or two before in-state acceptances. You will eventually get an email and a welcome video, but the info posts first on the portal. Good luck to all! If you do get accepted, encourage your parents to join the Cal Poly SLO Mustang Parents Facebook page. Students are allowed to join too.

It seems like the majority of acceptances are to either the College of Science and Mathematics or the College of Engineering. Hoping Orfalea releases decisions soon!
@eyemgh Yes, but decisions usually come out sooner in years past before Spring registration. I see the OOS decisions are coming out now!

@ironweasal Yes…DS is in state. We weren’t expecting to hear anything until Friday at the earliest. He hasn’t received an email, but it was on the portal when he checked a little after 11:00 tonight.

@ummsail It is very possible to be a cs major with little to no coding experience. Of course, any prior experience helps, and if you’re interested in getting an upper hand I would recommend possibly taking a lesson or two on code academy. But yes it is doable!
@Coopy1 It is a bit difficult, but not impossible! Bio is also a heavily switched into major here so if you don’t get in right away you can petition to switch majors once you arrive. I currently know at least 4 or 5 people switching into bio.
am i screwed if i have a 4635 mca for CpE? I didn’t list my middle school grades which is why i have 4635… If i did i would have like a 4885

@Minerclawz - My son just checked and has been admitted to ME and did not put his foreign language or math classes from middle school on his app, so there is hope!!
