Cal Poly Class of 2022 Thread

Could international acceptances being released be a sign that we’re on the verge of OOS and in-state decisions releasing soon?

@MelloG So, if we don’t get a decision this coming week or the later week, is it safe to assume we got rejected?

Why the slow leak this year? A few admissions every week? That doesn’t make sense at all.

@Lauren1272 It might be this week, it might be later. After the first wave goes out, though, it does seem from years past that chances of acceptance are not great, but neither are they zero. That’s the cruelty of their system. With UC’s you have to wait until March, but at least everyone finds out at once. Good luck!

@bogeyorpar I think last year there were a few early international acceptances as well. Perhaps more international students on CC this year?

@CopperlineX2, international acceptances roll in slowly over many days at the beginning. Then out of state will happen over several days, followed by in state.

Well it’s 11:01pm and the more and more I read this thread the more and more anxious I get I JUST WANT TO GET IN

Hi guys! I’m currently I freshman at Cal Poly SLO and I thought I wold talk a little bit about me and my experience with this. First I can’t believe it’s almost been a year since I was in your position(I’m currently writing this in my bed in my dorm room cause I can’t sleep haha). I am in state and a child development major but I’m actually switching to statistics! Ya so switching majors here is actually very easy especially your first quarter so I’m switching into the college of science and math from liberal arts and all I have to do is take certain classes this quarter and next then im switched so ya! Anyway my stats for getting in were a 3.9 with a sat of 1830 (so like 1290ish I beileve). You should being hearing back this week if it’s the same schedule as last year. Last year it was Wednesday out of state, Thursday-Saturday in state. Then if you didn’t find out you were either waitlisted or rejected, sorry:/ but ya it goes by major and just keep checking I found out Thursday around 5 (I actually took a nap and when I woke up I got in) For housing I live in a red brick(trinity) and a double. I did housing on the first day so that’s probs why I got a double. A lot of people have triples but with the new housing it’ll probs be less. Honestly the red bricks are the best place to live because you have halls so it’s like a community, the study room is REALLY nice because the library is far especially at night, the tv room is awesome my friends and I always watch movies, and it’s closest to everything because once you go to college you get really lazy and I couldn’t even imagine walking farther to get food or go to the rec. If you looking for party dorms try North Mountian. That’s about all I can think of if anyone has any questions lmk!

My son is OOS and I’ll be checking every 5 minutes.

Does this mean that decisions are here! You are the first out of state ive seen.

Nothing for this OOS yet…but I guess that could mean decline???

The question is, did you input your middle schoool math classes???

@brian_byrne813 I am sorry, I might have misinformed you. I am a US citizen, but have lived in, and attended school in, Costa Rica my entire life. For some schools I am considered international, while for others I am considered in the US applicant pool due to citizenship. I guess for SLO I am considered international then?

When people refer to the decisions coming out ‘in waves’, do these waves occur over the course of hours? Or days?

@laurenshay18, days to weeks for acceptances. Internationals trickle in. OOS then happens over several days, as there are fewer of them. Finally, in-state takes a week to 10ish days if I recall. It will be pretty clear when it starts and when the faucet turns off. Most who haven’t heard once that happens, won’t get positive news. For some reason though waitlist and rejections can drag on for an agonizing amount of time. Good luck.

Hi, I was wondering for housing, do we have to choose housing as soon as we get acceptances even if we aren’t 100% sure that we are committing?

IM SO NERVOUS UGH its my top school and im in-state
how do you calculate your MCA?

@evesters, go to the Please Read Me Now thread. It was reported there.
