CAL POLY POMONA APPLICANT SURVEY: See How You Compare w/ Other Applicants?

We are exciting to introduce a new feature that can help you compare yourself with other applicants at Cal Poly Pomona.

Take the survey below, complete your profile**, and check the results.

On the results page you will see how you compare with the Cal Poly Pomona Class of 2029 cohort.

** need not to worry, the survey is private, your information will not be made public, so your profile & stats are not visible to other members.

This particular survey does not match CPP’s admission criteria very well.

CPP does not have EA or ED, does not consider URM or legacy status, uses GPA as recalculated by the known CSU recalculation method, and does not consider SAT or ACT scores.

CPP also uses criteria not asked for in the profile, such as math course work for STEM majors, local area and military status, youth services, campus partnerships, certain extracurriculars and educational programs (although the point values for these are not disclosed). All admission is done by major, and the basic point calculation from GPA and the thresholds for the most recent admission cycle are listed at https://www.cpp.edu/admissions/freshmen/freshman-student-profile.shtml .

@ucbalumnus, we are running a standard survey across all schools, but if help me, I can customize this to make more sense for this school.

For all CSUs (and UCs), would suggest deleting questions about EA and ED, URM, legacy, and SAT/ACT scores.

For all CSUs except CPSLO, would suggest asking for GPA as calculated here: GPA Calculator | CSU . For CPSLO, ask for GPA as calculated by the same page, except also including courses and grades from 9th grade.

For all CSUs, would suggest asking about local area residency, as described at https://www.calstate.edu/apply/freshman/documents/csulocaladmission-serviceareas.pdf .

For all colleges (but especially CSUs and UCs), would suggest asking about intended or possible majors, since it is common for applied major to matter in admission selectivity.

For all CSUs, would suggest asking about supplemental criteria. These vary by campus and should be listed on each campus’ web site.

Yes, a customized survey for each college will be more work, but will be much more useful.
