Cal Poly Pomona to Cal Tech

I’m going in as a freshman to CPP for Aerospace engineering after choosing between UCI and CPP. I was wondering what broad requirements are needed in order to possibly transfer to Cal Tech for a future grad school opportunity. Thank you. From a student trying to fuel his curiosity.

Not clear on question. Do you mean you want to try to transfer as an undergraduate with the hope of then also later applying and being accepted to the grad school? Or do you mean you want to complete your four year undergraduate engineering degree at CPP and apply for acceptance to Caltech’s grad school. I assume you mean the former. If so, you can get a lot of information of what you will need to apply as a transfer on Caltech’s site, e.g., https://www.admissions.caltech.edu/content/how-apply-transfer-student, https://www.admissions.caltech.edu/content/deadlines-and-forms-transfer-applicants, and http://s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/admissions-prod-storage.cloud.caltech.edu/TransferFactSheet.pdf

As you will see, Caltech’s transfer admission rate is about 3% of those who apply for transfer, meaning any applicant’s chances are low. Included in things needed is completion of same or like courses that typical freshman and sophomore Caltech students take, a college report on you, two professor evaluations, and actually taking a math and a physics entrance exam provided by Caltech.

yes drusba, you were right on the corner. That’s awesome to hear. Anyways thank you for that insightful information.
