My son hasn’t received any update but some kids at his school have heard from SLO y’day. It was a mix of admits and waitlists.

Congratulations on your other acceptances! We are also anticipating a rejection from SLO but glad for other acceptances. Right now it is a toss up between ASU Barrett, Santa Clara, or SDSU. One way or another my kid will get her Biology degree somewhere and it will be where she was meant to go.

My guess is, mostly STEM majors since it is a STEM school.

My D24 is still waiting to hear back on her portfolio submission for Studio Arts. She was accepted at UCLA, UCSB (CCS), UCSD, UCI and UCSC. So she’s naturally optimistic about Cal Poly, but the waiting has been tough and who knows the outcome. I’ll keep you posted.

Mine too. He has already gotten into UCSB, UCSD, and UCD in Computer Science, so SLO is not really in the running anymore.

It seems part of the issue regarding frustration with “delayed” decisions is that people think because their kid got into UCLA or UCI etc that obviously should get into Cal Poly. Maybe because it’s a state school?

No I think the opposite. I know he will probably be rejected because he did get into UCLA, UCI, UCSD and UCSB.

Don’t let the weekend events cloud your perception. It is a once in a year event and apparently got a bit too large this year - especially given the shutdown of UCSB’s halloween. St Fratty’s day will be the equivalent of UCSB’s Deltopia (in a few weeks). It comes, then it goes. Shameful about the vandalism but definitely not, IMHO, reflective of SLO and its students.
