The library being closed is an annoyance. They do have to figure something else out, but it’s doable. My D who is a third year also had some
Library materials in storage and didn’t have time to wait for them - but she figured it out.
D21 enjoyed taking a summer course last year so much that she’s taking another one this summer, mainly to get her preferred professor.

Question: if a student gets a ‘D’ or ‘F’ in a class in the last semester in high school, will the admission be automatically rescinded? Or will there be room for negotiation?
Per SLO:
- Complete all coursework designated on your application, including those listed as “in progress” or “planned,” with a grade of C (or better) no later than the previous Spring Term for admission for the Fall Term.
- Complete each term in your senior year with an overall 3.0 GPA in your College Prep Coursework.

Room for negotiation? Call the Admissions Office.
If you have extenuating circumstances that resulted in the D and F, you could appeal but I would be concerned of having the acceptance rescinded.
The student could offer to retake the class during the summer but it will also depend upon which course and if SLO will be amendable to the offer.
The sooner SLO is notified of the deficient grade, the better to pursue possible options.
Declined my admission, good luck brothers!
Thanks! Hope you love your other college! What major?

This is tough. First of all, final test is in a few weeks, and student won’t know the final grade until middle of June. By that time, high school is over and college commitment deadline has long passed.
The high school don’t offer the class in the summer. Even if they do, student already graduated, not sure if they can still attend summer class.
In this case, maybe it’s prudent to accept another college’s admission offer now, just in case?
If the D or F is an issue for Cal Poly SLO, it might be a problem for another school so all conditions of admission contracts should be researched before committing.
Unfortunately, most schools will not give a definitive answer until they review the final transcript and yes well past the acceptance deadlines so options are very limited.
Very interesting! They are quite vocal about being very California Forward with regard to admissions. That is the exact opposite of what their statistics demonstrate.
Hello gumbymom, I was wondering if you knew the acceptance rate for ag communications and dairy science, i put those as my top 2 choices and im worrying if my gpa isn’t enough. my gpa is a 4.1 and i have a job that relates to my major but i know how competitive cal poly is. thank you!
