Cal Poly vs LAC 3/2 with Columbia

Costs of attendance, net after non-loan financial aid?
What LAC, and how are transfer admissions and financial aid determined at Columbia?</p>

<p>Material Science at Cal Poly. Goucher College (small progressive liberal arts). Cost of attendance is comparable, at least Cal Poly and Goucher. Columbia would be more probably, but we don’t know for sure. Transfer admissions seems quite solid, assuming a decent GPA (3.2 I think).</p>

<p>Just remember that 3/2 programs are not guaranteed that the second institution will accept you.</p>

<p>Columbia is pretty expensive. Its around $60k/year for tuition and room and board. I’m doing the 3-2 program and what I pay at Columbia is going to be what I paid for my entire 3 years at my lac. </p>

<p>Also, Columbia is guaranteed admission. At least it was last year when I applied.</p>
