Cal State Financial Aid ?

I have recently transferred to Cal State LB after attending community college for a few years. While at community college, I received around $4000 a semester in financial aid disbursements. This included $800 for Cal Grant, $2700 Pell Grant, and $500 for another grant i can’t remember the name. Now that i have transferred, I am only receiving around $2000 a semester in disbursements for Pell Grant and a State grant. Is this the average amount disbursed in the cal State system?

Your funding is based on your income, your grades, the school and your need.

If you have a Cal Grant and plan on transferring from a CCC to a 4‐year college, you should manage your Cal Grant to ensure you have remaining Cal Grant eligibility when you transfer.

A Pell grant is a federal grant. Also based on income.

You get a total of four years of aid. If you’ve used up most of that aid at the CCC, you may be stuck.
