Cal State Northridge Anticipated Aid Question

Soo my anticipated aid is money they have for sure right? My anticipated aid is 5000 and my tuition is 3000. The deadline to pay for tuition is july 13. Does the anticipated aid cover it automatically on that day or do i need to front 3000. Im scared if i wait for the 13 and dont pay in time, ill get dropped from all my classes. Can someone elaborate on this?

Also my friends financial aid covered their tuition already while mine hasnt.

Is that $5000 in aid for one term…or for the whole year?

I honestly dont know if its one term or whole year and idk where it came from. Northridge didnt gimme my financial aid information yet and my cal grant says 5,400 while my anticipated aid is 5000.
Tuition fee:3000 due july 13
Financial aid disbursement is 10 days prior to start of school.

Does the anticipated aid cover the tuition on july 13th? or not+

Call the school and ask. Wouldn’t that be easier to do?

Anticipated Aid: Financial Aid that has been awarded and accepted, but not yet disbursed (31530,49)

Called 3 days straight during their time period. Always “busy”

Have you completed/submitted all required financial aid forms/verification?

well. I sent my parents taxes in and its pending.

If your parent taxes are pending, it is very possible your aid will not be finalized until that clears. When did you do that?

Are you an incoming freshman or a transfer student?

Why are you dealing with the parent tax returns so late? Were you unable to link to the IRS Data Retrieval Tool? How did you send the tax returns?

Was sent 8 weeks ago. So the anticipated aid wont be given to me even though it says this
Anticipated Aid: Financial Aid that has been awarded and accepted, but not yet disbursed (31530,49)

How did you send the taxes? Were you unable to link to the IRS Data retrieval tool on the fafsa?

ETA…it sounds like your aid was awarded, and accepted. It won’t be disbursed until after the payment due date. But on your bursars account state, net…which you should be able to view online, there should be a listing of the aid that is going to be applied. Have you checked your bursars account?

You sent the taxes in May? Were there any additional forms after that which you sent in May or later as well?

I sent by mail. Im an incoming freshman. I sent everything by mail and i couldnt link the irs tool because it says my parents names and filing status is wrong even though it was correctly put.

I sent my parents taxes way back but they declined it for i dont know what reasons and i resent em in may.

Bursars account? I sent my csun verification form and they accepted that

Did you get a tax transcript from the IRS, or did you just make a copy of the tax return? Does your school require a tax transcript? Or will they accept a copy made by you?

Most schools now require linking to the IRS Data retrieval tool…or a tax transcript obtained through the IRS.

You don’t know why your first tax form was not accepted…and you just sent it again the same way?

If there is a question about your parent filing status…that could be an issue.

How did they file?

I mailed them a copy of it. I was planning to go right now and hand them my parents taxes.
They have to get my parents taxes from the IRS or can i just go up to them and hand em it. So confused right now sorry

You need to find out how the school wants to receive these tax returns. Find that out first thing Monday. And while you are at it…ask them the status of your aid. If you are close enough to go there…do so. If not…stay on the phone and hit redial until you get through.

I’m confused. In post 2, you say your anticipated aid is $5000.

In posts 4 and 9 you say it is over $31,000.

Which is it?

And what is the breakdown of your anticipated aid (grants, loans, work study, etc)?

?

Your Calgrant of $5,400 is for the whole year. You’ll only get about $2,700 for the fall.

Tuition+fees at a CSU are about $6k for a year; the $3k tuition bill is only for the fall semester;

Are you pell grant eligibile? Did you request a stafford loan? Otherwise, you’ll need to pay money out of pocket when that bill’s due.

the 31000 thing is a code with the message.
Oh so the grant is split between the semesters.
Well my grant already got awarded and processed and i dont need to take out loans to pay for this
