I’m a prospective Mech Engineering transfer and was looking at the summer schedule for ME but diddn’t see too much being offered, especially when it comes to the upper division courses. Is this usual? Or is it more an issue of the budget cuts? It’s a little dissapointing because it means Ill most likely need to spend an extra year to get my degree.

Typically departments spread around courses - some are given only in fall, some only in spring, even some only given in summer. Might be every other year rather than annually for a more specialized upper division course.

Plus, there are always other requirements that can be knocked off during the summer - American Cultures, electives, courses outside your major, . . .

I heard getting classes at UCB is becoming harder and harder year after year.
