[Cal Tech] What are my chances?

I’m concerned about my chances of getting into top schools; my academics over high school has been a mixed bag often as a result of stupid mistakes. Here’s a summary of things that could work in or against my favor.

Favorable:

  • 2400 SAT, 800 Math II, 800 Physics
  • A’s in most classes except for those B’s listed in unfavorable
    - Trend of improvement in those classes in which I got a B first semester (A second)
  • Involvement with Robotics club and Math team; Math team VP
  • Long history (since 4th grade, 1st place in state) of being involved with mathematics competition; took AIME twice to date
  • Science competitions in high school such as Physics Bowl (school was region winner one year, second place the year after and Physics Olympiad (semifinalist)
  • ~500 hours community service hours
  • Took every math and every AP science course available
  • Took 8 AP classes to date; will have 12 after senior year
  • Will do summer research starting Monday at NIST, internship where I’ll be programming

and the Unfavorable:

  • B’s in math classes because of my own foolishness
    - Algebra 2 (8th Grade)
    - Semester 1 BC calculus (Sophomore year)
    - Semester 1 Multivariable Calculus (Junior Year)
  • B’s in some ‘soft’ classes
    - Gym semester one (Full ■■■■■■, Freshman year)
    - Spanish 3 semester one (Sophomore year)
    - AP Lang B semester one (Junior Year)
  • My math competitions dawdled significantly after middle school(state championships etc.); only managed to qualify for AIME and score 4-6 on it
EDIT: I’m an asian male and US citizen

So I have an unweighted GPA of 3.85 and weighted GPA 4.7

That was a huge read; if you went through it, you have my deepest gratitude. Any thoughts on my chances for schools like Cal Tech/MIT?

It could go either way with those schools. You probably have a 50/50 chance. Maybe if you did more math/science related ECs, that would help your chances
