Cal vs UCLA vs UC Davis (Regents)

My majors for these schools would be nutritional sciences (Berkeley), Evolution Ecology & behavioral sciences (UCLA) and Exercise biology (Davis), and I intend to go to grad school for physical therapy. Here are my thoughts on each school.

UCLA- Best city and campus out of the three. Has great academics and prestige, but not as cutthroat as Berkeley in science courses. Drawback would be that the school is overfilled with people, and class selection would be tough.

Berkeley- Most well known out of the three, and fairly close to home. The city is diverse and interesting, although I’m not a big fan of the hobos. It also has the best college football and basketball team out of the three, and I’m a huge sports fan. Drawback would be the extremely tough classes and possible lower GPA.

Davis- It’s cheaper, I’d be able to participate in their honors program, I get to live in the best residency hall, and they have the best major for my intent. I also feel like I’d be able to earn the highest GPA here, which may help grad school chances. However, I’ve lived in Davis for a long time, and I wouldn’t be getting that new city college feeling. The prestige of the school is also much less compared to that of Berkeley or LA.

So what do you guys think? Any help would be appreciated.

Why choose second best when you can have the best? Choose Berkeley.

bump…

Is net cost after financial aid and scholarships similar?

Davis is about 8000$ cheaper, and may be more in future years because of the stipend that guarantee’s need. La and Berkeley will be the same the first year (full in-state price) and may vary after I get my green card over the summer, but it’s hard to predict.
