I am currently in Calc 1 (At a CC) and have the highest grade in my class after 8 weeks. I have a 93% and the average grade is 75%.

In 8 weeks my teacher has cancelled 3 classes and shows up late 10-15 minutes every day. The tests (at least to me) are very easy and the homework is also very easy. We never work on word problems which worries me because I feel like harder schools would focus on those more rather than basic problems. I have looked on MIT’s Open Courseware at their tests and they are way more challenging.

We just finished derivatives (Chapter 2). I am pretty sure we are already behind other Calc classes at my school since I have seen others working on related rates, etc.

We have taken one test (2 weeks ago) and handed in 5 homework assignments. I have only gotten one homework assignment back for the first unit out of 3 and none for this unit with a test Tuesday! He claims he is so busy because he coaches High School football and Pee-wee football, but at what cost to his students?

Am I just blowing this way out of proportion or should I be worried? I do not want to fall behind too far and want to make sure I am learning everything I need to be learning. I do not want to get to Calc 2 and get destroyed because I did not learn the topics in-depth enough.
