Calculating GPA

Ok, so my school haven’t updated my transcript from my last semester grades but without those grades I have a 4.028. Last semester I got:

Honors Brit Lit - (A) 4.5
Honors Econ. - (A) 4.5
Yearbook - (A) 4.0
AP Biology - (A) 5.0

Last semester GPA average is a 4.5 so do I average that with my overall GPA (4.028) to get my updated GPA? If so, that’s like a 4.2 something… that can’t be right.

I’ll give you cookies! And brownies!! :0

haha… unfortunately you don’t just average those two. First you would multiply however many semesters you had the overall GPA of a 4.028 from, then add the 4.5, and finally divide by all the semesters you’ve taken so far.

For example if you had the 4.028 as your overall GPA for the past six semesters, it would be

(4.028 x 6 + 4.5)/ 7 = 4.095
