Calculating Unweighted GPA

How do I calculate my unweighted GPA from my current weighted? Like right now my GPA is 4.421 weighted:

CAD - 100% (this class is a joke, but is a prerequisite to advanced CAD for next year)

US History - 93% (do not know how people like US history! SO boring…)

AP Lang - 85% (the teacher makes it SO much harder than the actual test is, and i suck and hate english)

PE - 100% (obviously)

Lunch (it seems like this class keeps getting harder every week. our school’s food stinks.)

AP Chemistry - 94% (love the teacher. she made me realize that i don’t hate chemistry.)

Pre-Calculus Honors - 84% (will go up, did bad on one quiz and it is the only one in the grades. the teacher told me there will be many more quizzes coming up though.)

Biology Honors - 96% (i am starting to really like bio.)

Please help! (Hope you liked my frequent parenthetical reviews on the classes!)

I don’t know what your school’s weighted GPA system is based on, but usually to calculate UW GPA, all you do is that you reduce all AP/honors/weighted classes into out of 4.0 rather than 5.0 or 6.0 or whatever your school rates it out of.

For example, at my high school As in AP classes are 5.0.

Thus, say I’m taking:

AP Bio - A
AP Chem - A
AP Phys - A
English - A
Ethics - A

My weighted here would be ((5+5+5+4+4)/5) = 4.6 but unweighted would simply be 4.0.

As you gave percentage points, I’m not too sure what system your school uses.

So my current grades are:
A
A
B
A
A
B
A

so: ((4+4+3+4+4+3+4)/7)) = 3.7 right? wow i guess i really need to get that B in math up huh? i honestly don’t know about the B in AP Lang because I am happy with it! LOL.

Thank you!

In our school, a 95 is 4.0, 94 is 3.9, 93 is 3.8, etc.
So, you would have a 3.81 ish. I would recommend asking your school guidance department to see how they do it.
