<p>Is a TI83 plus sufficient for a college placement test? My son is completing his enlistment in the Marine Corp. and has been out of HS for 5 years. Will a TI83 plus be sufficient to practice with and complete his test - and maybe a semester of college math?</p>
<p>Yes. I went through multivariable calculus with a TI-83 and to be honest, I probably would have been fine with a scientific calculator. I had friends in engineering who went to higher math classes with TI-83s.</p>
