Calculus AB AP Scholarship?

I am a junior taking AP Calculus AB. My teacher has told our class that you can get quite a bit of scholarships for doing well on the AP test, especially as a junior. It’s looking like I’ll be able to get a 4 or a 5 on the AP test this year. I think he’s said he’s had students have college paid for because of their score on the AP test. Does anybody of any more information on this or projections of what kind of scholarship I’ll be able to get if I get a 4 or 5?

sounds like a joke to me
Calc AB and Calc BC are pretty easy AP Tests
My school had a 98% percent pass rate last year with over 60 students taking the test

Yeah…that’s not even close to being true. There are virtually no scholarships available for doing well on any AP tests, let alone just AB Calc.

What is true is that you can use AP credit at most colleges to place out of gen-ed requirements or save a little money. But there’s no chance you’ll have college paid for based on an AP score. Sorry.

If you’re interested in merit aid, just concentrate on doing well in your classes and on the SAT/ACT (if you haven’t already taken it) and don’t worry about the AP test.
