Hi guys. Does California Berkeley require essays to be written for undergraduate admissions? I have searched extensively on their website but could not find the information regarding the essays.
I have however found this link:
[University of California - Apply online](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/apply-online/index.html) Which doesn’t include the essay requirements.

So I would just like to confirm whether Berkeley requires essays for undergraduate admissions.

Thanks.

Go to the page in the link you provided. Click on “Personal Statement” in the menu on the left side. That takes you to the discussion of the required essays.

ETA- the application for Fall 2012 is not available yet. I don’t know if the essay prompts are the same each year.

Yes, they do. The prompts are supposed to be the same as last year from what I’ve heard.
