My admissions story is very long and kind of freaky, but I don’t feel like retelling it all here, so I’ll just summarize. My dad called the post office to find out what they would do with a 20" x 3" tube that wouldn’t fit in a mailbox, and they said they would simply keep it there. He came home from work early to try to catch the mailman before he brought it back to the post office, but the mailman said that since there were so many Christmas gifts in the mail, all packages were going to be delayed a few days by the sorting process. Thus he had no information, no envelope, no “come pick up your package” slip, and definitely no tube, but he told us that if we called the post office they might be able to find the tube among the packages waiting to be sorted. They were very helpful, and it was a really great experience to actually be handed my tube by the mailwoman instead of finding it outside in the cold (we even took pictures, lol). So, the moral of this story? If you’re still waiting, it could be because your tube (which is huge… I hadn’t realized how big 20x3 is!) is sitting amongst a pile of unsorted Christmas presents, but if you call, you just might get some good news!

Cool. Where you from?

yeah, i’ll admit i’m feeling really anxious right now,

but I doubt the acceptance tubes are delivered first

last year one of my friends got her acceptance package on december 19th, while 3 other people who got accepted received their packages on the 15th (I think)

going to the post office –> good idea if you have a tube.

going to the post office –> bad idea if you make kind usps workers look fruitlessly for your tube for an extended period of time (not to mention the public humiliation and anxiety involved).

I’m glad yours turned out to be a good idea. :)

“but I doubt the acceptance tubes are delivered first”

As I said in another thread. Someone in my school (we live at school, and had the mail delivered here) got their acceptance today. I, on the other hand, got nothing. I’m thinking acceptances got out more quickly.

me?, you can’t draw conclusions from anecdotal evidence… it’s just not good statistics.

I was never too hot with statistics, Hamster. :p

I’m not saying it’s definately what happened, I’m saying the signs currently point to it. Don’t mind me though, I’m just particularly distraught, as I’m now certain I’ll be getting a deferral tomorrow, maybe wednesday. :(
